What happened when I went foraging for tree bark to make gnome houses for a community fundraiser in 2021?
A reawakening of metal skills practiced through the years as a product designer and model maker. The use of tree bark in my creations is the driving factor in the uniqueness in each of my pieces. Tree bark is an organic material with a long life leading to creating the most diverse rich textures, and I am trying to honor that long life even if it is just using a fragment of a once towering giant.
I am continuing to experiment with other organic materials and let them tell me what to create. A new door has opened and I am excited to go through it!
